I confess I don't get all the hubbub over "All the Single Ladies." I'll give Beyonce full credit for that video, which I imagine was shot in a single take...that's impressive. The song, however, I find dull, repetitive and, quite frankly, kinda sexist. I know it's supposed to be some kind of female empowerment thing, but if you think about it, the message is that tired old chestnut that women just want to get married and men who want them better know it. Yawn.
It's probably silly, but I didn't care for that song until they used it in the TV show "Glee." A character (Kurt) recreated the video & used the dance moves to loosen up during his tryout for the school's football team.
So, while it's Beyonce's song originally, to me... it's all about Kurt & how fabulous he was doing his thing. I don't even pay attention to the lyrics because I'm too busy imagining Kurt dancing down the football field. :)
